VICTORVILLE • A research firm that evaluated 3,000 hospitals across the country has named Desert Valley Hospital as one of the top 100 small community hospitals in the nation for 2008.
It is the fourth time the Prime Healthcare Services hospital has been recognized with the award in the last six years.
“This recognition speaks volumes to the high quality of patient care the physicians, nurses and staff of Prime Healthcare Services provide,” said Lex Reddy, President and CEO.
The annual study identifies the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance.
Conducted by Thomson Reuters the study evaluates performance in areas of mortality, medical complications, patient safety, average length of stay, health care cost, and patient satisfaction.
“The 100 Top Hospitals winners raised the bar again this year, delivering a higher level of reliable care and greater value for their communities and payers,” said Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president Thomson Reuters.
Another Prime Healthcare Services hospital, West Anaheim Medical Center in Anaheim, was named 100 Top Hospital in the medium size community hospitals category.
